Comment: This film is similar to the story of the youth fantasy film "mermaid blue jade Aquamarine" (2006), but the production cost is certainly not that high, this is not in the cinema film, the production cost is not high. Sometime props is also a common model models, no real sense. Seaview is also the matting of the synthesis, some disappointment, but the shooting of the beauty and angle is still good, especially the famous underwater mermaid model Hannah also starred in this film.

7. 《NINGYO》(2016)

● Title: Mermaid NINGYO (micro-film)
● Year: 2016 years
● Length: 7 min
● Country: Italy
● Director: Gabriele Mainetti ● Screenwriter: Nicola Guaglianone
● Actor: Alessandro Borghi, Eleonora Ruffino, Rikuya Takata

Ningyo ("human fish", often translated as "mermaid") is a fish-like creature from Japanese folklore. Anciently, it was described with a monkey’s mouth with small teeth like a fish’s, shining golden scales, and a quiet voice like a skylark or a flute. Its flesh is pleasant-tasting, and anyone who eats it will attain remarkable longevity. However, catching a ningyo was believed to bring storms and misfortune, so fishermen who caught these creatures were said to throw them back into the sea. A ningyo washed onto the beach was an omen of war or calamity.

The Ningyo is a 1909 period piece about Dr. Marlowe, a paleontologist and professor who finds a piece of a map pointing to the location of the ningyo. In Japanese folklore, the ningyo is a mythological fish-like creature whose flesh can be eaten to attain the power to stay the same age for a very long time. However, should someone ingest the flesh of the ningyo, it would bring storms, famine and other misfortune to Japan so it was believed that anyone who caught a ningyo threw them back in the sea. Constantly dismissed as a fraud by his peers, Dr. Marlowe decides to risk everything to prove the existence of this creature but he is not alone. There are others in search of the map and the creature for their own reasons and what Dr. Marlowe chooses to do will put his own moral compass to the ultimate test.

Though it is a short film, The Ningyo does not have a solid conclusion. Miguel and Tran hope to eventually turn the short film into a feature length film. Until then, the Art of The Ningyo is open to the public at the Gnomon Gallery. Dive into the vision created by Miguel and Tran as you explore the creature concepts and designs, 3D Sculptures, costumes and stills from the short film. If you’re interested in cryptozoology, creature design or even the magic that is visual effects and animation for the movie business, be sure to stop by the Gnomon Gallery through June 21st during business hours to see the display in person.

Sometime during August, 1598, newly appointed governor Dam Ryung (Lee Min-Ho) stays for a night at an inn run by Mr. Yang (Sung Dong-Il). During that evening, Mr. Yang shows Dam Ryung a captured mermaid named Sim Chung (Gianna Jun). Later that night, Dam Ryung releases her into the ocean and, before she swims away, Sim Chung reaches out her hand to Dam Ryung which he briefly holds.

In the present day, Joon-Jae (Lee Min-Ho) is a smooth talking conman with magician like abilities. He works with Nam-Doo (Lee Hee-Joon) and Tae-O (Shin Won-Ho). For their next score, Joon-Jae impersonates a prosecutor and swindles a large amount of money from a wealthy suspect's mother. Joon-Jae then travels abroad and stays at an oceanside resort. Meanwhile, Sim Chung is swept up in a tidal wave and washed ashore near the oceanside resort. She sees Joon-Jae.

This visually stunning staging of The Little Mermaid combines classical ballet with contemporary dance, and the underwater world is brought to life with cutting-edge 3D technology.
Choreographer Kenneth Greve and composer Tuomas Kantelinen have created a fairy-tale world that touches on the biography of H.C. Andersen (1805–1875).
